20th Birthday celebrations!

In about 2 hours time (10pm now), I’m no longer a teenager!! I’m turning 20! Haha I feel so childish typing this =/ but yea. =)

Met up with Twin Dragon, Henry and abao along with YL’s friend Mei Jin. We went to Botak Jones (amk). Basically abao was late coz he had to rush down from work, so the 4 of us stood at AMK Mrt station and talked till we got bored and decided to do something else so we went to BreadTalk to get a cake. Coz yesterday was abao’s birthday.

I had Fish & Chips:

The guys basically talked about NS while Mei Jin and I laughed, talked a bit and watched the TV. Lol. The stuff I learnt about NS on Friday were pretty funny and interesting.

Met up with Huzz at Buona Vista MRT station.
Anyway, before that, he’d smsed me to ask if I would like to borrow his guitar so I said if it wasn’t too troublesome for him, I’m ok with it =) When I saw him waiting for me, he was carrying a guitar. I noticed that the guitar bag was different so I thought maybe he’d bought a new bag for his guitar. I started to apologise coz I was late, and he just said, “Happy Birthday” and handed me the guitar.

I didn’t get it at first though part of me was wondering whether the present was his gift for me. Then when he asked me to open and take a look, I opened and saw a brand new guitar.

I was soooooo stunned and surprised that I cried. LOL. I didn’t know I’m such a teary person =/

Anyway, we went to Holland V after that, hung out at Starbucks and had Mexican food for dinner. I learnt so much about him tonight =)

Lol. anyway, the mexican diner sort of mixed up our order and gave us out appetizer only after the whole meal. Haha. There was a group of twenty-somethings celebrating a girl’s birthday as well there =)

I just want to say that I love Huzz so much and Huzz, I really want to thank you for making my day everyday. THANK YOU!!

Had alumni meeting.

Then met up with Hwa Swee, Henry and Gary at The Coffee Club at Taka. Table topic was on NS again. And this time, what they said was scary. Stuff like doing monkey bars till your hands bled yet you have to go on, etc. Hwa Swee looked the same hahaha. Just that he has the NS style hair. But then, I’m like used to seeing so many friends with that same hairstyle that it doesn’t surprise me or anything anymore. Lol.

Met up with Huzz after that coz he had to book in. Didn’t get to see his family today. =( Never mind! In 2 weeks time!!

Lucky – Jason Mraz

I don’t know how to describe how I feel when I listen to this song. It’s just… amazing. 🙂 (I think of Huzz whenever I listen to this)

Do you hear me,
I’m talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I’m trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don’t know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I’ll wait for you I promise you, I will

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we’re in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I’m sailing through the sea
To an island where we’ll meet
You’ll hear the music fill the air
I’ll put a flower in your hair
though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you’re all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I’m lucky we’re in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Had dinner with Reuben and Eve yesterday at the 99cents sushi Japanese restaurant yesterday. Reuben’s treat! Haha. Thanks man!
It was great to see both of them again.
I haven’t uploaded the pictures yet though. Pictures added below!
Oh and we were “country-ist” – if you know what I mean. =X

Had Starbucks after that.
Tried the Green Tea Frap on Reuben’s recommendation and it was super great!
One more choice to add on when I go to Starbucks in future instead of Deulce de Leche or Caramel Frap all the time.

Reuben and Eve.

Reuben and I.

Twin and I.
I like this pic!! 🙂

OPP Outing – May 08

Had OPP Outing at Manhattan Fish Market PS yesterday.

Food was okay. Loved the rice though. Had Seafood Platter for 2 with Huzz. Great to see everyone again!! 😀

So far, I would say that I enjoy the OPP Outings the most coz everyone invited would turn up. lol.

Vernon & Madeline

Botak Henry! + Yi Long trying to hide.

Yi Long + Vernon – NS Men!

My soup of the day

The 3

Everyone else

Jia Hui’s

Seafood Platter for 2

And just as we were to bill, Vernon knocked over his cup of ice water and it directly shot towards my direction. I quickly moved backwards but not before some water spilled on my hand. Cold! But it was pretty funny. Lol.

We walked to Lucky Plaza after that where I saw a transverstite (I think) in the ladies. I was quite shocked at first coz he/she looked like a man and walked out of one of the cubicles. But then I realised the white foundation and weird dressing. So yea. Nope I’m not laughing at her/him. Just wanted to write about it.

The guys played pool and basically saw Huzz in action the first time. I haven’t played since the alumni chalet in 2007.

Gathering with my sec 4 classmates.

Hwei Ling returned for a short visit (from Canada) and over the weekend (Saturday), we had a small gathering at Settlers Cafe.

I was there earlier than the rest but then they came. Anyway, those who came were Hwei Ling, Eng Eng, Janice, Shin Yee, Coreen, Kim Guan, Derrick Peh, Ya Hong, Wei Heng, Jun De, Hou Teck, Huey Jin, Nicholas and Jing Mei. Quite a big group so we ended up splitting to 2 tables to play games.

Oh and a few of us went to Hougang Mall’s Mac after that for a drink.

Shin Yee, Eng Eng, Janice, Hwei Ling

The ONLY HS Idol & Derrick

Hwei Ling & Ya Hong

A tad oily though

Jing Mei, Jun De, Nicholas

Me and Hwei Ling

He thought I was taking a picture of him

Hou Teck. One of my good friends in class. We used to work on the notice board with Hazilah after school

Everyone (L to R):
Row 1: Hwei Ling, Janice, Coreen, Jing Mei
Row 2: Me, Huey Jin, Ya Hong, Shin Yee, Eng Eng
Row 3: Kim Guan, Derrick Peh, Nicholas, Wei Heng, Hou Teck, Jun De

Videos will be up later.
Anyway, I enjoyed this gathering a lot, coz it feels like I’m back in sec school where everyone’s doing the things we used to do. It’s quite funny how the rumours that I thought was forgotten are actually still remembered 4 years on, and the things that were done back then are all repeated. haha.

Darn, I miss my sec 4 class.

But somehow, I feel like I’m quite different from the me back then.

Ya Hong: “How long did you know your bf before you both got together?”
Me: “Around 3 months.”
Ya Hong (pointing to Huey Jin): “3 days.”

White Tangerine.

YouTubing now. Haven’t done so in ages and now my bf got me back into the youtubing mood. 😛

Haha. No idea how I’m now watching Jason Mraz live videos again. I remember how I used to spend hours a day watching Jason Mraz live. His live songs sound much better than the records =x

Went to White Tangerine at Paya Lebar Kovan CC (near Kovan’s Mac) with Huzz just now. I’d wanted to try out the place after the alumni meeting that day.

Not a bad place. We had a 4 course meal and paid about $15 each (Huzz treated me though). No service charge, no GST. Plus you can sit there however long you like and play board games or just chat.

Just add $2 to your main course, etc and you’ll have a full set (soup + drink). We had ice cream as well (forgot to take pic).

Cream of Mushroom soup rocks.

Chamomile Tea – Big cup eh. ($1.50)

My seafood spaghetti Quite generous serving + lots of seafood. ($7)

Seafood basket. ($5)

The company was the best though. 🙂

Some pictures.

Finally got to upload some pictures taken over the previous months.

担担面 Dan Dan noodles from RP. It looks messy coz I had mixed the sauce and everything up.

SG Flyer. Taken from my boss’s car at some expressway on the way to appointment.

Inside Novena Medical Centre. The garden looks like a relaxing place to be at.

Three copies of The Buddha, Geoff and Me. Hahahahaha. yes I bought all 3 copies. $78.66 but it was all worth it.

And last but not least,

Croquettes!! This picture doesn’t do justice but they were HUGE and YUMMY!! 😀 Huzz‘s mum made them (he helped of course).

SNCO Meeting + HS Alumni Meeting

Had 2 meetings yesterday. Both were important.

SNCO meeting was basically for Shini & Weifen to brief the Excos on what are the upcoming plans for the orchestra. Had quite a long discussion on a certain topic that I gave some input on anyway. And we’re going to have a BBQ next month! More details coming up! 😀

But anyway, since I’m the music in-charge for Percussion and the plans they’d shared would need a lot of my help, I must do my job. Quite exciting though. 😛

Then had HS Alumni CNY 09 dinner meeting. I’m put as the in-charge for publicity (with junior Jun Ru). Quite a stressful job as I really have to make sure that we hit the target number. And I know that there are a whole lot of people who didn’t want to go this and last years because myfriendisnotgoingandthereforeidon’twanttogoaswell. How am I to make sure this doesn’t happen again next year?

Walked all the way to SRJC’s bus stop to take a bus back. Exercise! Though along the way, I’d stopped and bought the famous Simon Road Fried Oyster. Haha. 😛 Yummy!

Class outing 2008

Stayed at home the whole day and did a bit of work to prepare for next week (I am such a workaholic).

Took a bus to AMK and was waiting at the platform when there were 2 guys having a super loud discussion so I turned to look; it was Scott and Hwa Swee. Lol

So when we reached Novena, we realised we were the earliest, and waited about 5 mins before Xiao Wei came. We ended up waiting for Edison and Yi Long before heading to Pasta de Waraku. May was also there already. Continued waiting a while more for Jessica and Cheryl before ordering our dinner.

I ordered Salmon & Tomato pasta (spaghetti) (#66) – Mini.

Jessica ordered a Regular pasta though in another type of pasta and her portion looked like the same as mine.

Cheryl went to ask the waitress why and she explained that it’s because they measure the pasta by it’s weight to determine it’s portion. So we learnt something new today. 🙂

May found hair in her food and they got free drinks in her table (had to split table). Scott found a piece of cucumber or something like that under his plate and we were joking about why he didn’t complain about it. Lol.

After that, we went to Mango Lingo and sat there chatting till 10pm. I miss Chengdu a lot after hearing what Edison said about the place and his experience there.

Though I have to say, it is very unwise to visit Chengdu right now as it is the most accessible place to Tibet right now and I heard that it is quite messy over in Chengdu right now. The news also reported that one of the states near to Jiuzhaigou is also quite messy right now. 🙁

A little disappointed that so many people cancelled out on this outing on the last minute. 🙁 Class outing didn’t feel like an outing.

OPP Gathering 2008

I still remember this outing very clearly.

It’s amazing how almost a year (last year’s Good Friday vs 2 days before Good Friday this year) has passed so quickly and so many things have changed.

Bleah why do I keep thinking about how everyone has changed?

Met Huzz immediately after work yesterday. 😀 He came over to my workplace area just to carry my stuff for me. THANK YOU!! We met the rest of them (Edmund, Jia Hui, Madeline, Panda, Hwa swee, Henry) at Clarke Quay. I thought we were going to be late, but when we arrived, we realised that Buddha, Li Ying and Yi Long haven’t arrived yet. Then Buddha arrived and we joked that maybe Yi Long and Li Ying went for a secret date before coming over to meet us. And the funny thing was that they both took the same train but used the different entrance (just like what we’d joked about).

Edmund brought us to Settler’s Cafe. Quite a cool concept though I find the pricing a little high for the food (chicken wings, burger, fries, onion rings – they are kinda homemade too).

I can’t remember the names of the games that we played. =x One was where we had to remove small bricks to balance a round plate (which was balanced on a ball), another was Cocoducky (ok just remembered this), then one was some kind of reaction game, and we took the trivia cards for another game and ended up asking questions around. Finally, one staff gave us this trivia game (I’d asked her to intro some trivia games) where you can bet on the answers that everyone has given and see which one is correct. Huzz and I were the richest. 😛 Hehe. Kinda fun. I love trivia games coz you get to learn random bits of facts, even if they are kinda useless. Lol. And the best thing is trivia questions are always reused in different games so what you learn can be reused the next time. 😛

We also celebrated Henry and Madeline’s birthday. Happy birthday to them! 😀

We stayed till 11pm haha. I haven’t had so much fun in a while. Gave everyone their jerseys. I kinda miss living with these friends. At first it was weird living with people you don’t really know, then it became weird not seeing them everyday. Hope that this kind of gathering would happen more often. You don’t always live with classmates your age for 3/4 months you know?

Thank you Edmund for organising this.

(Updated the SNCO concert entry with pictures)

Currently raining right now. Ahh… Haven’t had such a day where it’s raining when I’m at home.

Today’s Dad’s birthday. Actually planned to eat dim sum or something outside but he said it’s very unhealthy to eat out on a sunday (long explanation) so we ordered from Pizza Hut (though I don’t get the difference).

Aloha pizza and Hawaiian. 🙂 Love the Aloha pizza! Had lots of cheese and mayo on it. 🙂 And oh, nowadays you have to tell the operator that you want cheese and chilli flake packets else they won’t give it to you -_-” That makes sense in the business perspective but not to the consumer’s perspective.

Had my final music theory lesson today. Ms Tania said that I’ve been quite consistent with my work and all so there’s no need for anymore lessons. But if I want to ask her anything before the exam I can do so. Quite worried about it right now. I’ve still got tons of terms to memorize. >.<

Nothing much for today. Work tomorrow! Hope I can solve that JavaScript problem.

*Oh and I wish SBS Transit would convert to using Google Maps instead of Streetdirectory.com maps because Google Maps are much more user friendly.

Edited: Interview with Dean.
