So yesterday my twin Yi Long flew off to Sydney. I think I have some kind of karma with Sydney. Or at least my friends does. First Huzz flew off there and now him. I didn’t send him off because I had no transport. I know this sounds stupid, but I really cannot afford to take a cab home from there after train or bus services has ended.
You may think that I should get my dad to fetch me right (since he’s a taxi driver), but there are 2 problems to this sentence:
1) He has to queue in the taxi line if he enters the airport (meaning I cannot get him to fetch me).
2) Yesterday a lorry hit a Mercedes behind my dad’s taxi, and the Mercedes hit his car -.- He ended work early.
I know these reasons sound so stupid whatsoever, but i guess i’m trying to relieve my guilt for not sending off a good friend at the airport! (Yilong told me not to say sorry again so I shall not say it here.)
——————————————
Anyway, love this song (hence the title). it reminds me of me and Huzz.
Recently life has been to hectic to my liking. But anyway, am glad to have some friends around.

This is wayyy overdue. In fact, I haven’t blogged for ages due to school (and now work) but well, here goes.
Jmin celebrated her birthday on 28 March as the actual day of her birthday falls on 1 April (which was a weekday). Here are the shots that I’d taken on that day itself.
It was pretty fun. In fact, I took lots of pictures that many people didn’t take due to the fact that I was there early (with Huzaen to help set up food, decorations, etc.)
Taken using D90.
My favourite image of the lot.
This kitty (who was blind at its right eye) kept attempting to “meow” us into feeding it. Haha. But it’s just so cute hence I took about 100 pictures of it. =x Didn’t upload all yet though.
Jmin and I.
The following pictures were taken at night after the other Elves people had arrived.
Faizal left early to go out on a date. Lol. So only Jmin and Sherry saw them (Huzz and I had went for a walk).
Ryan mixing the vodka with juice for Jmin.
Jmin before she drank it.
Playing cards.
Elves people haha.
The pretty cake and candles! (I love this shot too btw)
Jmin and her Mum (and uncle)
Everyone of us! (Elves)
Had a great time! But well, as usual, I turned red from the alcohol and everyone wondered if I’m okay (of course I am!)
Meant to blog this last week but I was just too busy! Life has been interesting lately.
Kenshu, or 研修 basically means training in Bahasa Japanese (hahaha). Every year I believe SD has a kenshu for all members and friends to participate and learn.
So this year, I agreed to go for kenshu but didn’t take the exam. Basically, throughout the lessons, I was OT-ing. I went for the first lesson (learnt about SSA’s SD history for that one) and the subsequent ones I couldn’t make it.
So on the morning of the first day, I was feeling a little freaked out as I didn’t really know what to bring and pack. After packing, I realised that I had to bring a lot of stuff and was wondering why (it was a 2D 1N thing). Haha.
Then, on my way there, my shirt had this string that decided to unroll from nowhere. I had to break the string using my hands on the train and it looked pretty awful. All these bad demons attacking me huh?
By the time I reached CCK LRT (the kenshu was at Senja Soka Centre) I was freaking out, wondering if my outfit was ok as they said we have to wear at least 3/4 pants. I was wearing a pants that reached my knees.
Regress a bit, I know I’m a bit paranoid but I’m scared not knowing what the 2 days was going to be like. I think I’m kinda weird in some way. Wonder if there’s a syndrome for it. If I don’t know the schedule for a meeting or stuff, I’ll just freak out. My day has to be planned out if I’m out with others. Only with family and myself then I won’t be scared.
So I reached there and was greeted by Evelyn who handed me my SD T-shirt (after I paid) and the booklet for Kenshu. Saw Wang Lee as well. Evelyn then brought me upstairs and looked for Jingsi who I knew from NYPSD. She couldn’t recognize me at first until she stared at me for 1 second. haha. She was like “I recognise you from your eyes!” I have big eyes. Lol.
We started updating on what we were doing and all, and Evelyn brought a girl, Jia Neng and joined us. Jia Neng’s major is Medicine. When she told us, we were like “Whoa!!” and she looked a bit paiseh. haha. She’s nice and end for the next 2 days I hung out with her.
I realised that there were some people whom I’d never seen in any of the NUSSD meetings (Jia Neng included) and they told me that they seldom attended. But I’m quite glad that they came for kenshu!
For the 2 days, we had sharings, study, testimonials, games and an 80 sec to fame thing.
Which reminds me. I saw Boon Han and he didn’t recognise me at all. He even asked if I’m “Candy or Jasmine”. Was totally annoyed then but not now. My sis told me, “Well done, your friend of so many years don’t recognise you.” Haha
Didn’t really sleep well at night coz it was pretty noisy and people kept walking in and out of the room. Plus, the door hinge was super squeeky and it just wake me up everytime. NUSSD was placed near the door btw. Shirley (Lam) was pretty funny. She lay down on the floor and was like “Huh!! The floor is so hard!!” then she covered her head using her sleeping bag and said “Wah my sleeping bag is smelly!!” Lol.
Had loads of fun at the morning exercise thingy at the 2nd day. There was this lady who taught us some aerobics exercise and the SD guys made lots of sound effects for it. It made the mood more fun and reminded me a lot about YCF 2001! A table where the trainers will stand on top to teach us moves, exercises, and also the mass exercises and loads of people doing the same moves, etc.
The picture above was taken after the exercise and games on the 2nd day.
Oh ya, we had Lee Wee Bros beehoon breakfast on the 2nd day!! I was super excited when I saw the van driving into Senja Soka Centre. HAHA. Love their Otah! And the chilli that came with the beehoon and otah was excellent! It wasn’t too spicy (or maybe it’s me) but it was pretty sweet and complemented the beehoon nicely!
Didn’t think of taking pictures throughout the 2 days. So the above was taken from Qiuyi‘s facebook.
Learnt a lot throughout the camp and I just wondered why I didn’t strive as hard for SSA/SGI/Sensei before. Must jia you!

It’s been almost 7 years since I first stepped into an SWE (now SNCO) practice back when we were still at Tampines. Time flies, and I have been pondering about certain events recently (regarding SNCO).
Anyway, I thought I’d managed to get Kat and Audrey to practice with me yesterday but unfortunately I was wrong. Both of them got me to ‘morning call’ them but in the end, both of them didn’t pick up and both of them didn’t go.
But don’t get me wrong. I’m not pissed, not annoyed, not angry. I’m like totally neutral about it. For some reason, if my life weren’t filled with stuff like that, I would have been mad and freaked out. But this is life. There are people who will do that.
I’m not writing this to scold them or what. But just my thoughts.
Anyway, I’m glad that I went. Coz I was like the earliest and I got to do like 51mins of daimoku before practice! Haha. Awesome! And, Jun Hong came back! Double awesome! He’s like one of the big brothers I have in SNCO. Haven’t seen him in ages and he said he haven’t played his trombone for a year and Eddie got him to come back
Speaking of which, we did percussion ensemble yesterday. haha. Puts music theory to good use coz Percussion scores were scary huh? Haha.

Went to Huzz‘s place after that and my lunch was rice fried by him. I think Huzz is kinda sore that I didn’t take a pic of it. >.< Very sorry! Btw, the rice was quite nice. Never eaten rice fried with cucumbers actually.
He's going to cook a meal for me every weekend! Yay!
Oh and I got back my B&W pics. Thought of the day: Don't take B&W pics of places. It's just boring. I should either take people or... I don't know. Gotta do some research on flickr I guess

On the way home on Friday, Jmin and I were discussing whether I would like to accompany Jmin to Marina Barrage for a photowalk (let’s put it that way). Faizal was unconvinced that I should go. In the end, after I did some research and found out that Marina Barrage has wireless, I decided to go. In case you were wondering why I need wireless, it’s because of module bidding. )*@()*@&*
Woke up at 6am on Saturday (9 Jan 10), left the house at 6.45am and took bus service 72. On the way, there was this old man who boarded the bus, and then when he wanted to alight, the bus captain (this driver who was featured in many SBS Transit posters) guided him to the front door exit, and then (you won’t believe it), helped the old man cross the road. WOW. He held on his arm, and then watched out for vehicles and all. It was until the old man sat on the opposite bus stop seat then he cross back and sat down on one of the seats before he came back to the bus and continued the journey. Really heart warming scene.
Waited for Jmin for a while, before she reached and then we took a cab down to Marina Barrage. Luckily for us, the driver knew how to go to Marina Barrage (took the KPE) and we reached within 30 minutes.
(Funny part) Both of us went to the highest level at Marina Barrage and started taking pictures of the place since it was empty and quiet. What happened was, we noticed another guy at the opposite end of the place taking his camera out and then setting up the tripod.
What we didn’t notice was that that guy was actually boss. hahaha. So funny.
Faizal joined us afterwards after he woke up and Melvin told us through msn that his spirit will be flying towards us and so we felt his spirit. haha
Anyway, the 4 of us were pretty excited when they announced that they will be opening the floodgates in “5 minutes” but we waited for about 15 minutes and nothing happened -.-! Disappointing. But the sun was so good that I didn’t feel upset at all!
Pictures that I took that I like!
Spot boss
Afterwards, we went to Marina Square for our lunch, and Faizal fetched Jmin and I back to Hougang where I rushed off to bowling with Jessie, her bf and Huzz.
Lunch:
Didn’t take pics there, but I scored the most CMI score ever (44). However, by the end of the game I realised what I was doing wrong and now I know how to bowl! Must go often. haha. It’s something that I like but I can’t do well, so I want to do well!
I conclude that my digital cam is good for outdoor/landscape shots but not indoor. But I must learn how to control the settings well.
Had so much fun this holiday. Thanks to all who made it happen (especially Huzz and all at Elveslab).
School starts tomorrow. Hope I’ll get the last module through appeal.
This morning, was about to go out (wanted to be earlier ) when I received a phone call from Faizal. So like yesterday, went to the bus stop and waited a while for him. Then he went over to Jmin‘s place to fetch her (first time I saw where she lives).
Thennn…. we got lost. Haha. Super funny and fun. Faizal drove around Punggol, then used his GPS (which was in Bahasa. Haha very cool) and for some reason he missed like a few turns and we ended up at Orchard Road. Hahahaha! We kept laughing la. Like super funny. Ended up further and further. And the GPS got a bit annoyed by Faizal missing those turns it gave him the bird’s eye view of the directions instead. HAHA.
So in the end, he finally figured out where the GPS wants him to head to and we reached office! And we weren’t late too!
Had lunch at Katong Laksa again. Spammed water into my body after that so that I won’t be sick. Laksa is just so freaking awesome and delicious that it is just horribly sinful (calories, heatiness, etc).
So this ends another work term for me. Hope I’ll be back.
Settled all my stuff today. But unfortunately my modules bidding was unsuccessful like nuts. Argh.
Will be accompanying Jmin to Marina Barrage tomorrow morning instead of BTT registration coz boss requested Jmin to do so (he will be there too). Then will be bowling with Jessie and her bf (along with Huzz of course).
Would like to add that those people who robs taxi drivers or even cheat their money, will garner loads of negative karma and let’s see how your life goes in the next few years.
Decided to use lyrics as my title so that it reflects the song that’s playing in my head in this point in time.
What a day (yesterday).
As I was about to leave home, I noticed that I had a miss call from Faizal and also and SMS asking if I would like to get a lift from him since he was driving! Since we live just opposite of each other (island), I said okay and then went to the bus stop to wait for him. So fun to just go to work without changing all those buses and listening to the radio and talking to colleagues (Faizal and Jmin who also came along).
Then whole morning and afternoon was spent chionging for the presentation today that we had with a potential client. Of course, I can’t say what was done, except lots of photoshopping and I just am lousy with “best practices” of using photoshop. Wasted a lot of time.
Skipped going out for lunch to complete my work on time (coz I know I’m slowwww…) and Sherry and Jmin da bao bak kut teh for me! Yummy! I can’t remember the last time I ate a proper bak kut teh coz mum always cooks it without the bak kut. Haha. This was pretty yummy. I finished up the WHOLE container of soup, meat and beancurd. Not the rice though. Boss was pretty stunned at how much I can finish if I want to. Soup is nice in aircon environment.
So Faizal, Boss, Jmin and I went for the presentation. We were totally stunned when we got there, or at least for me. I didn’t expect a whole room of 13 people (I counted 3 times) to be there to watch our presentation. Boss was the one who talked and I tried to help a bit but it was difficult. Faizal helped save the day though! I felt like a secretary or something. =x
After work, met Huzz and Guangyi for dinner at Din Tai Feng Raffles City. I’ve never been to DTF believe it or not. The food’s yummy! Haha. But I totally don’t know what to order. I suck at that Been at too many western and jap eateries that all these Chinese restaurants feel very foreign to me.
Quite glad to see Guangyi after so long! I don’t think I saw him last year at all. =/ He shared about a lot of stuff and with Huzz, it was mainly about NS. Zzz whyy dooo guyys bondd throughhh NSsss?
The reason why Huzz came was coz he had this swimming thingy yesterday morning and didn’t know if he was able to book out or not yesterday night. So usually if he’s not sure, he’ll just not ask me out first. It’s only after it’s confirmed before he will ask me out. Anyway, I’d asked Guangyi if he’s able to meet yesterday for quite a few days already and so decided to bring Huzz along.
I’ve never asked Huzz along to another meeting with another friend so it was the first time for me. Haha. We decided that we should ask Guangyi if he’s okay with Huzz joining us for dinner else it wouldn’t be too nice. So I smsed Guangyi and he said it’s okay! Quite glad Huzz is at least not too quiet and that Guangyi was able to bond with him through NS. Hm, it’s not that bad eh?
DTF xiaolongbao wasn’t bad, but to be honest, I don’t know much about XLBs so I can’t say how good it was. =x
After dinner, Guangyi headed home and Huzz and I walked around Raffles City. We’re both pretty swakoo about the place after not having been there for ages (and I mean it).
Anyway, I’m getting a Holga 135BC complete with Fisheye lens, Flash and Telephoto lens. Now am just searching for the more reliable store (online) to get from. *prays hard*
Got to go prepare for my last day at work and a whole day of bidding. Zzz. Good night!
It started with boss giving us a choice on where to eat for our X’Mas lunch. We wanted to eat at some Japanese buffet place, but it turns out to be not a halal place, so ended up choosing other places but it turns out that Elves Lab had been there before (although 90% of us weren’t here at that time ), so in the end I just randomly picked Fish & Co. and everyone was ok with it. haha.
Then, Faizal was sick on X’Mas eve. It seems to be a bad “tradition” (last year was Ai Nee).
We all squeezed in boss’ Integra. Poor Melvin was squashed by 3 of us and he was so tired he fell asleep in the car.
I’d thought that The Glasshouse will be jam packed since it was X’Mas Eve, but it was only about 80% filled! We manage to get seats and here’s what we did with 2 DSLRs (Jmin’s Nikon D40 and boss’s Canon 500D): *pics below are from Canon 500D mostly taken by me but some from Boss and his gf
Sherry, Melvin and Kenneth (intern, who doesn’t smile often)
Best salmon I ever had in a while. the sauce makes me drool.
I’d almost touched the food with the lens to achieve the pic. Haha. need more practice though.
Sherry’s Fish and Chips.
One of my favourite pic because I got to take a rare image. Haha. It’s rare to see/hear Kenneth talk or even smile. Both are captured in here.
LOVE THIS!
After.
Everyone with the gift that we’d exchanged.
My posture is bad!
Went off after that to West Coast park with Huzz and there were loads of families picnicking and playing with sparklers that it got blurry and smoky watching them. Haha.
14 November 2009
Was invited to Yan Qin’s (aka Panda) 21st party.
As Huzz was going overseas, he didn’t attend.
One day before the party, I decided on the gift for Panda and asked if anyone would like to share. We bought him $100 worth of vouchers to dine at Ichiban Sushi (and its parent company’s subsidiaries).
Met up with Twin Dragon, Jia Hui and Henry before heading to Pasir Ris Park for the BBQ party. The sky got dark while waiting for the bus and we didn’t think much about it. On the bus, Henry met his OCS (I think) friends and it turns out that they were going to Panda’s party as well.
We alighted at the wrong stop. Hahahaha. Took a 15 mins walk and it started to rain. Roomie and I shared an umbrella.
By the time we reached the BBQ Pit, it was raining like nobody’s business and the BBQ couldn’t take place at all. Panda’s family members were there packing up the food and everything. Panda’s Mum decided that we all go to their place for the food (she cooked a whole load of stuff).
We didn’t really want to wait in the rain (we meaning Dragon, Henry, Jia Hui and I) and we didn’t want to trouble them so we took a bus back to Pasir Ris Interchange and then took a cab to Panda’s place from there.
Failed attempt at indoor shots again. Plus they didn’t turn. I was sitting next to Jia Hui.
By the time we reached there, the party was in a full mode! Lots of yummy food (cooked by Panda’s Mum and one of her friend I think), drinks and noise! Well, if a party is quiet it doesn’t make sense right? The tv was turned on to the Singapore vs Thailand soccer match and half the party was watching it (the army people). We ended up talking to each other (plus Vernon and Teck Hwee who arrived shortly after).
It was seriously great to catch up with everyone! Almost like an OPP gathering (with the exception of a few who weren’t there. ). Panda’s mum talked to everyone of us and asked about those who weren’t present. She’s so nice!
Oh ya! The following pics were taken by Panda’s friend who was using a Nikon D90. Another hint for me to get it eh?
*Photoshopped btw

Birthday cake! Chocolate was super rich!
The remaining time was spent mostly watching the match (3-1 to Thai), talking, eating and catching up with friends. After the match, we watched Momo Love and left around 11pm.
Went to Cheryl’s 21st Birthday party today (31 Oct). Her birthday’s actually on 5 November (same as Huzz) but she decided to celebrate earlier.
Wanted to borrow a DSLR to take pictures (must build portfolio okay) but unfortunately the T&Cs changed so I wasn’t qualified by their terms to borrow.
Anyway, tried the Nikon D90 that Cheryl’s friend was using.
Huzz and I were the earliest guests to come I guess. We were there talking to each other, a little to Zixuan and Cheryl and was entertained by her neighbour’s dog. haha.
I took this shot. Not very sharp, I know =/
We were one of the first to eat the buffet and also durians that Cheryl’s dad opened for us. Yummy!
Afterwards, Scott and Edison came and we all sat at a table and talked, about school and about NS. Also played this card game where we had to shoot ducks. Forgot the game title.
It began to rain around that time and the cards kept flying off the table, so we ended the game after Henry arrived. Wah haven’t seen him in a really long time!
More chatting, and then cake cutting time!
See how happy Cheryl looks?
Enjoyed my time there Boyfriend was there, good friends there, how not to enjoy?
*Photos courtesy of Cheryl’s photographer, Edwin.
——————————————–
Afterwards, the group of us walked to Clementi MRT station. Huzz went back to Jurong, Edison back to NTU, Scott was taking the NEL (which I refused to take after taking it too frequently) and Henry and I took the NS line.
I realised that I’d met 3 of my good friends/buddy/pal from primary school, secondary school and poly within the 2 weeks. haha. This just made my week less stressful.
